UTA Tennis 10s & Tennis Tweens Events January - March 2018

There will be five categories for Tennis 10s and some matches will take place under a bubble or indoors, but there will also be outdoor courts used:

RED:               children born in 2010 or earlier

ORANGE 1:   children born in 2009 who play 3 hours or more per week

ORANGE 2:   children who play orange ball in their clubs 1 or 2 hours per week

GREEN 1:      children born in 2008 who play 3 hours or more per week

GREEN 2:      children who play green ball in their clubs 1 or 2 hours per week

To register for an event a parent MUST CONTACT THE ORGANISER BY EMAIL.  If the child turns up on the day hoping to join in, they will likely be disappointed.

Red ball events can have 16 children per full sized court, using 4 mini red courts across the main court.  One match on, one match off.  First to 10 points using alternating serving.

Orange and green ball events can have 4 children per full sized court, as all singles matches will use just one court, with masking tape used for orange lines.  Matches will be short and timed with proper scoring; one match on and one match off.

In Tennis Tweens our aim is get children playing and competing outside of tennis lessons, both in singles and doubles once they are at the yellow ball stage of tennis.

Competition group will play doubles matches only and these are for children aged 10-13 years old who are playing yellow ball and competing in UBTI tournaments on a regular basis.  This will last 2.5 hours per time.

Novice group is for children of the same age who wish to play some competitive matches but without pressure or coming up against an Ulster ranked player.  This is the perfect way to dip your toes into matchplay and to enjoy competing mostly in singles play against boys and girls you haven’t met before.  This will last 2 hours.

**All entries are £5 and should be paid in cash to the organiser on the day before play begins.**

Please take careful note of the dates and times for the event you are entering, and we would ask that you give a minimum of 24 hours notice if your child is then unable to attend otherwise we would have to ask you for the entry fee.
