‘MAKE IT HAPPEN’ AWARD 2017

Purpose & Spirit of Award

The ‘Make It Happen Award’ provides funding for enthusiastic and dedicated young athletes. The Award will help access specialist skills and knowledge and assist in achieving sporting potential.

 Award Value

(2017) Two awards of £2,000 each. Funded equally by Bluefin Sport and the Mary Peters Trust.

 Requirements to Apply

Applicants must be affiliated to a sporting governing body recognised by the Mary Peters Trust.

Applicants must be aged 14 and over.

Applicants on funding from Sport NI Athletes Investment Programme or similar will not be eligible for funding.

Athletes awarded Dale Farm Awards in the current year are not eligible for funding.  The Award cannot be used towards University Scholarships.

 What to apply for

Applicants must have a proven ability at junior and/or senior level. Must have a standing judged against World, British and Irish standards which indicates potential to compete at international level or with distinction in British and Irish Championships.

The potential of these athletes is such that a time of specialist coaching, specialist knowledge/skill/competition within a structured environment would give them a boost in their sporting careers and hopefully lead them along a pathway which will, ‘Make It Happen’.

Please note that Ulster Tennis as the Governing Body require the application to be returned before 12pm on Thursday 16th November 2017 in order to complete the governing body section before submission to MPT.
