Talent Coach Development One Day Conference

Sport Northern Ireland will host the annual NI Talent Coach Development Week during theweek beginning 23 February 2015, this year two of the events will be hosted in partnership with Ulster University with the other in partnership with the North West Coaching Network.

The week of coach development opportunities will comprise of three events and feature leading speakers in the areas of talent and coach development. All of the events are free of charge to attend and those interested in attending any of the events can register online now.

Talent Coach Development Evening Conference – BOOK ONLINE

Date: Monday 23 February 2015
Time: 6.30pm – 10.00pm
Venue: Ulster University, Jordanstown Campus
Content: This event will include an opportunity to attend two talent coach development workshops from a choice of three. Workshop themes include creating world class learning environments, how best to assess athlete performance, and how we can maximise potential from limited talent pools.  These workshops will be led by Andrew Gillott (Coaching Manager – Sport England); David Morley (Professor – LJM University); and Tony Stanger (Talent Manager – SportScotland).

Talent Coach Development One-Day Conference – BOOK ONLINE

Date: Tuesday 24 February 2015
Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
Venue: Ulster University, Jordanstown Campus
Content: This event will include an opportunity to attend two key note sessions and two talent coach development workshops from a choice of three. Themes for the day will include linking talent and performance structures, key talent concepts, creating world class learning environments, how best to assess athlete performance, and how we can maximise potential from limited talent pools. The sessions will be led by Tim Jones (Head of Performance Pathway – Brirish Swimming); Robin Gregg (Lecturer – Ulster University); Andrew Gillott (Coaching Manager – Sport England); David Morley (Professor – LJM University); and Tony Stanger (Talent Manager – SportScotland).

2015 North West Coaching Forum – BOOK ONLINE 

Date: Thursday 26 February 2015
Time: 6.00pm – 9.30pm
Venue: Omagh Leisure Complex
Content: The North West Coaching Forum is a series of presentations and workshops designed to address a range of issues related to sports coaching.  Themes for the event include international perspectives on talent identification, strength and conditioning/speed development, mental resilience, and periodization considerations for coaching. Sessions will be delivered by Ricky Huey (Ulster Rugby); Joe Gallanagh (Ulster Rugby); Kelley Faye (SINI); and Roger Keenan (Ulster GAA).
